MUSEUM OF THE WHITE MOUNTAINS
EXHIBITION VISUAL IDENTITY
From September 2021 to May 2023, I held the position of a student graphic designer at the Museum of the White Mountains in Plymouth, New Hampshire. During my tenure, my primary responsibilities encompassed crafting captivating designs for interior and exterior signage, flyers, logos, and various marketing materials. These creative assets played a crucial role in promoting the museum’s engaging exhibitions and events.
In the dynamic environment of the museum, meeting deadlines for rolling exhibitions was crucial. As part of my routine, I consistently collaborated with supervising staff, presenting them with drafts of my work. Their valuable feedback, along with input from my talented team members, allowed me to refine and enhance the visual creations to their fullest potential.
Seeing the results of our hard work was incredible. On average, about 500 people enjoyed the exhibitions I helped promote. Knowing that my designs brought happiness and excitement to visitors made me feel really proud and motivated throughout my time at the museum.
FIELD STATION: ART-SCIENCE IN THE WHITE MOUNTAINS EXHIBITION
Long a site of collaborative research for scientists, for the last decade the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest has encouraged artists to join their ongoing conversations. The artists in the exhibition have all spent time in the forest and with the scientists. While the form of their work varies, all of it is in conversation with the ecosystems of the forest and the research community. Meghan C. Doherty is the curator of the exhibition; I did the graphic design using photographs by Joe Klementovich.
Artist panels, thoughtfully placed within the main gallery of the Museum of the White Mountains, serve as informative guides for visitors, offering valuable insights into each artist featured in the exhibition. Strategically positioned alongside the art pieces of each artist, these panels, measuring 24 x 36 inches, provide a comprehensive understanding of the creators and their unique artistic journeys at Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest.
